Steps to fast sleeping:

  • Relax your entire body first, including your face and all the muscles in your mouth.

  • Furthermore, allow your calves, thighs, and legs to relax

4-7-8 breathing method

It may not be advisable for you to try out this method if you are having COPD, asthma, or any other respiratory problem.  The breathing method can end up aggravating these breathing problems.

The method is very simple. You need to first press your tongue to the roof of your oral cavity with the frontal tip of the tongue touching the base of the two upper front teeth.

You will have to maintain this position of the tongue all through the procedure.  Once you have done that, you can proceed with the steps below:

  • Part your lips slightly and release a whooshing sound while exhaling via your mouth.
  • Next, close the lips back and silently inhale via the nose while counting 4 in your head.
  • After inhaling for the count of four, hold your breath and maintain that position for about 7 seconds.
  • Once 7 seconds expire, exhale the air for 8 seconds. Exhaling the air should be done via a whoosh sound.
  • Once this cycle completes, you should try to reduce alertness. The best way to do this is to try out mindlessness.
  • You can repeat the cycle described above four times. Once you start feeling relaxed, you should just release your body to sleep.

The method above can also be very effective, but it will take a longer time than the military method that we first described.

Progressive muscle relaxation

This method can also be called deep muscle relaxation. You can rely on it if you are looking for how to unwind.
